NO FURTHER RELAXATION OF BUSINESS OPENING, APART FROM BEAUTY INDUSTRY, BURNHAM TELLS GOVERNMENT
Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, has written to the Government urging no further relaxing of business openings, apart from for the beauty industry. At this afternoon's press conference he also implored the Government not to impose any 'kneejerk measures' Leicester style lockdowns in response to increased virus cases.
Burnham did concede that, depending on virus rates for Oldham (high) and Wigan (low) next week, the boroughs could have differential restrictions; while GM Lead on Health, Richard Leese, said that the vast number of people testing positive for COVID are either asymptomatic or have low level symptoms.
