Salford City Council is supposed to release information under the Freedom of Information Act within 20 working days. But when Paul Brodie, of residents' group Vertical Villages, asked for info in the ongoing battle against the Council's plan to re-locate the city's Youth Offending Service, it finally arrived after 45 days – a full two days after the decision to rubber stamp the re-location was made!

Islington Mill, home of a zillion Salford creatives, is throwing open its doors to the public during July with a series of events, happenings and exhibitions. Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday til the end of the month the Mill will be open from noon until evening, complete with a bar and weird stuff like the strange folk-driven Jackie-O Motherfucker on the 9th and a Moon Landing Party on the 19th. WILKINSON'S HOTEL DESTROYS FUNDING FOR BUILE HILL PARK

The restoration of Buile Hill Park received a major blow today when the Heritage Lottery Fund rejected Salford Council's £3million application on the grounds that "a hotel within a park would impact on its character"…

Now, according to official figures, the Buile Hill rebuff has cost the Council almost £73,000.
