Salford has 13 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, bringing the cumulative total to 1,785, up from the previous day's 1,772.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, cases in Manchester rose to 4,230 (up from 4,202), followed by Oldham with 2,877 (up from 2,869), Wigan 2,311 (up from 2,305), Bolton 2,289 (up from 2,273), Rochdale 2,236 (up from 2,227), Stockport 1,977 (up from 1,973), Tameside 1,913 (up from 1,891), Trafford 1,699 (up from 1,658) and Bury 1,575 (up from 1,567).
A new map of the rate of COVID-19 cases between 17th and 23rd August produced by Public Health England shows the prevalence of the virus in Greater Manchester, compared to most of the rest of country, with Salford coloured orange.
There have been no new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, twelve new COVID-19 patients have been admitted to hospitals in the North West, making a total of 87 currently receiving treatment, with twelve on ventilators.
