HIGHER BROUGHTON, WEASTE AND SEEDLEY, AND ECCLES SEE MOST MAY VIRUS DEATHS
Salford has the third highest average death rate from coronavirus in the country outside London, with 159.9 deaths per 100,000 people, new figures from the Office for National Statistics show. The rate is an average between March and May, but in May itself, the highest number of virus-related deaths in Salford were in Higher Broughton, Weaste and Seedley, and Eccles.
Meanwhile there has been one new confirmed case of coronavirus in Salford and one new sad death announced by Salford Royal Hospital.
