COUNCIL ADMITS LACK OF OPENNESS OVER URBAN SPLASH LAND SALE – AS SALFORD STAR CALLS FOR RESIGNATIONS

Last night, at a Scrutiny Panel 'call-in', both Salford Council Strategic Director, Ben Dolan, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Paula Boshell, admitted a lack of openness and transparency over the decision to sell the Community Forest Garden site to Urban Splash.
As the call-in was successful, a full consultation was promised and the decision was referred back to Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett, the Salford Star called for resignations, with councillors arguing that a lack of openness is endemic throughout Salford Council.
