OUTDOOR SWIMMING BATHS, 48 STOREY TOWER...BUT NO AFFORDABLE HOUSING
A massive proposal for the £360million development of Cotton Quay on Salford Quays has been deposited with Salford City Council for almost 1,500 apartments, hotels, car parks, play parks, two bridges and an outdoor swimming baths.
The developer, FREP3 (Salford) Ltd, is proposing no affordable housing, thanks to Salford Council's own shocking planning policy, and is trying to argue that it shouldn't pay anything towards public realm and open space as it "would far exceed that in terms of cost compared to that which would ordinarily be requested by the Council"...
