Confirmed virus cases in Manchester now total 1,743 (up from 1,740), followed by Wigan with 1,231 (down from 1,233), Oldham 1,159 (up from 1,157), Stockport 1,091 (down from 1,092), Bolton 1,061 (up from 1,060), Trafford 885 (up from 884), Rochdale 887 (up from 886), Tameside 881 (same) and Bury 818 (up from 817).
There have been no new virus-related deaths announced at Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, from tomorrow, National Express coaches will be back on the road after a three month suspension. COVID-secure measures include: Enhanced cleaning regimes, an additional air conditioning filter and protective screens on vehicles and in coach stations along with gloves, masks and visors and a supply of hand sanitiser for all drivers and customer service teams.
The maximum capacity of all coaches will be fifty per cent and passengers will only be allowed sit in window seats with aisle seats blocked off. There will also be temperature screening of people before being allowing to travel, and face coverings must be used in coach stations and on the vehicles.
