Salford has actually, somehow, recorded a decline in new confirmed cases of coronavirus as official Government statistics are now registering 930 cases, down from 931 the previous day. This could be to do with a case diagnosed that was later undiagnosed, or a weekend cock-up in the counting.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester there have been very small rises, and cases in Manchester now total 1,584 (up from 1,578), followed by Wigan with 1,207 (up from 1,206), Stockport 1,054 (up from 1,049), Oldham 1,079 (up from 1,076), Bolton 1,019 (up from 1,018), Trafford 829 (up from 825), Rochdale 794 (up from 790), Bury 761 (up from 757) and Tameside 735 (up from 731).
Salford Royal Hospital has also announced no new virus-related deaths.
Meanwhile, as the 'new normal' kicks in, a Finnish fashion company called Prisma has launched a new range of 'telco-friendly' fashion for spring for those working at home and going to virtual meetings.
The range combines 'formal upper parts with less formal bottoms into striking outfits', states the firm..."As the originators of the phenomenon 'kalsarikännit' - getting drunk at home in your underwear - Finns have taken full advantage of the situation where it is totally acceptable to participate in business meetings wearing hawaii shorts or yoga pants".
Päivi Hole, Vice President of Sport and Apparel from Prisma explains: "The change in clothing trends was quickly noticed as sales of homewear started to rocket soon after the Finnish government put restrictions into action. The aim of the campaign was to remind people to stay creative and go a bit goofy once in a while in the midst of these difficult times as well - because that's the spirit we Finnish people are known for..."
