On Saturday 16th and Saturday 23rd December, Swinton Square is set for proper Christmas events. On these days, from 10:30am there will be carols sung by pupils from Salford City Academy, followed by, at noon, the arrival of princesses, Elsa and Anna, for a Snowflake Sisters Frozen Show...

The days are completed by a visit from Father Christmas, who will be at the Square between 2pm and 3pm, asking children what they want for Christmas and handing out sweets.

And for mums and dads, each weekend there's a Swinton Sweep competition, where one shopper could win £100 to spend but will only have half an hour to spend it*...

"We can't wait for Christmas at Swinton Square, with all of these amazing festivities taking place over the next three weeks"says Lydia Ellis, Marketing Manager at Swinton Square "We're kicking things off from 10.30am until 3pm each day so everybody has plenty of time to come along, take part, and get their Christmas shopping done"

"With Father Christmas and Elsa and Anna coming along, it's the perfect opportunity for parents to buy the presents they need, whilst also keeping the kids happy" she adds "As a mum, I know how challenging that can be so this is your perfect shopping Saturday all wrapped up. We're also really excited that each weekend we are giving away £100 in our amazing Swinton Sweep competition and can't wait to see the winners go on a mad dash to spend their money."

In an open letter to the school's governors, Drew Povey writes that he refuses to walk away from the school with a settlement and accept a gagging clause.  So he's gone public...to #TakeAStand.
