No jokes please about the Salford Mayor, Martin Vickers, £164,000 and other £millions – but a zip slide is taking place at the AJ Bell Stadium on 8th and 9th November to raise much needed funds for the Stroke Association.
In the UK there are around 152,000 strokes every year and it is the leading cause of severe adult disability. Indeed, over 1.2 million people are currently living with the effects of a stroke.
The Stroke Association works directly with survivors and their families and carers, with health and social care professionals and with scientists and researchers. The charity also campaign to improve stroke care and support people to make the best recovery they can.
Now the Association is calling on fans of Salford Red Devils and Sale Sharks, the clubs that play at the AJ Bell Stadium, to get involved in the fundraising zip slide.
"The Zip the Try Line is one of our most daring and exciting opportunities of the year and promises to be an experience you won't forget" says Annie Moran, Events Officer at the Stroke Association "With amazing views across Trafford and access to restricted areas of the AJ Bell Stadium, this is an event not to be missed.
"We're calling for adrenaline junkies across the North West to soar across the pitch and enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity" she adds "By helping to raise vital funds, together we can conquer stroke; the money raised will help us to continue to offer vital services to stroke survivors and their families."
