Every Wednesday, from 12 until 3pm the Claremont, Weaste and Seedley Carers and Ex-Carers meet for three hours where a welcome break can be had from looking after someone.
It's a drop-in session and, as well as advice and a good chat, people can try out new things like alternative therapies and, when funds allow there are also trips out. The latest was for a meal to the Red Lion in Swinton.
"We try and welcome people who just need a little break from their caring duties" says Joan Dickinson, chairperson of the group "We share experiences of our caring roles over a cuppa and a biscuit."
The £2 subs are saved to take carers out and the group has big plans for the future but is trying to raise money to realise them.
If you can help financially or are a carer and would like more information on the group please contact the Salford Star (07957 982960 or info@salfordstar.com) and we'll put you in touch – or just call into the Drop-In, any Wednesday 12-3pm.
