Salford has 56 new coronavirus cases, up from the previous day's 42, bringing the cumulative total to 22,115. The seven day average of cases in Salford is now 251, down from 262, while the seven day rate per 100,000 population now stands at 97, down from 101.2.
It's the first time Salford's rate of infection has fallen below 100 for over six months.
Elsewhere in Greater Manchester, the seven day average of cases in Bury is 167 (down from 192), with a seven day rate per 100,000 population of 87.4 (down from 100.5); Bolton 303 (down from 319), with a rate of 105.4 (down from 110.9); Manchester 481 (down from 500), with a rate of 87 (down from 90.4); and Oldham 199 (down from 202), with a rate of 83.9 (down from 85.2).
Rochdale has a seven day average of cases of 265 (down from 289), with a seven day rate of 119.1 (down from 129.9); Stockport 253 (down from 266), with a rate of 86.2 (down from 90.7); Tameside 219 (down from 226), with a rate of 96.7 (down from 99.8); Trafford 141 (down from 159), with a rate of 59.4 (down from 67); and Wigan 311 (down from 341), with a rate of 94.6 (down from 103.8).
There have been no new virus-related deaths at Salford Royal Hospital.
Meanwhile, yesterday the Government published its latest interactive map of the rolling rate of seven day infections per 1000,000 population up to 4th March for Middle layer Super Output Areas in Salford - which shows Pendleton, Clifton and Worsley have the lowest rates in the city with almost no new cases, or 'fewer than three'.
