Salford has 106 new coronavirus cases, up from the previous day's 95, bringing the cumulative total to 14,834. The seven day average of cases has increased to 474, up from 465, while the seven day rate per 100,000 population now stands at 183.1, up from 179.7, a seven day rise of 19.1%.
The Government has scaled back the amount of information it provides over the holiday period, so basic figures for the rest of Greater Manchester are...
Bury - 86 new cases, with a seven day rate of 207.3 (1.5% rise); Bolton - 62 new cases, with a rate of 175.5 (7.3% rise); Manchester - 165 new cases, with a rate of 186.8 (7.2% rise); Oldham - 62 new cases, with a rate of 208.8 (14.6% rise); Rochdale - 102 new cases with a rate of 205.9 (0.7% fall); Stockport - 79 new cases, with a rate of 136 (25.5% rise); Tameside 61 new cases, with a rate of 133.3 (45.9% rise); Trafford 110 new cases, with a rate of 173.2 (56.9% rise) and Wigan 110 new cases, with a rate of 155.2 (12.8% fall).
There have been no new deaths at Salford Royal Hospital.
For Christmas Day, figures have been released showing that 4,423 Salford residents have had their first vaccination jab, with 2,197 over 80s, and health and social care workers vaccinated at Clarendon Leisure Centre. A further 2,600 appointments have been booked.
