Capturing a Summer is a short film created by the residents of East Salford and filmmaker Danielle Swindells in partnership with the Salford artist studio Paradise Works for Manchester International Festival's Festival in My Neighbourhood event.
The film aims to be a personal record of life in East Salford during the coronavirus crisis, as seen through the eyes, pens and lens of over 150 Salford people, who were invited to submit short videos, photos or writing showing who they were and how they've been living during lockdown.
"The aim of the project was to provide a sense of connection between the people living in the East Salford and the artists in Paradise Works studios" says Danielle "During a time when we are asked to avoid other people and where we communicate less and less with our neighbours, creating a digital project where we can learn about other people's experiences and share something personal about our journey feels more important than ever."
