SALFORD CITY COUNCIL TO INTRODUCE SECRET CAMERA TRAPS FOR SCHOOL ILLEGAL PARKING

Star date: 15th September 2020 SECRET CCTV CAMERAS TO BE INTRODUCED OUTSIDE FOUR SALFORD SCHOOLS Salford City Council is to install CCTV outside four schools next week to trap parents who park illegally when dropping their kids off. Parents and carers who park illegally while dropping their kids off at school could be caught on CCTV and fined £70, reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days. The cameras, which Salford City Council states "will move around known danger hotspots", will initially be installed outside four schools in the city – but their location is not being revealed. "I would be very happy to see no penalty notices issued at all because that would mean everyone is respecting the law and keeping our children safe" says Councillor David Lancaster, Lead Member for Environment and Community Safety. "Double yellow lines and no parking zones outside schools are there to protect children" he adds "It only takes a few minutes to park legally, safely and considerately without blocking driveways or streets for people who live near schools and walk the last few yards to school..."

| I went to see a mate of mine the other day and I stopped near my old primary school where I spent a few years of my childhood and I noticed a new huge pole near the entrance, i looked up and seen a new camera pointing towards the zig zags yellow lines. I'm not going to tell people where it is because i want to get the parents cars fined for dropping off the lazy kids right outside the school gates, only kids with disabilities need to stop outside the main entrance. CHILD SAFETY COMES FIRST.. .. The school location is located on a busy crossroads where I was brought up when I was a nipper, thats it. |

| Only parents with a disabled child or special needs child attending that school should be allowed to drop off outside the school. |

| Just got in my car to go work to get some pennies and because I live near 3 schools, it's mayhem. Parents dropping the lazy bugger's right outside the school gates and parking on the yellow zig zag school yellow lines. Back in the day, I walked to school in the rain, cold, hail stone and snow. I can't wait to these parking cameras get the cars parked up outside the school gates and fine them these parents. There is kids crossing the road outside the school gates and the children can't see what's coming down the road because of all the cars on the road parked up.. kids safety comes first. |

I drop my daughter and then drive to work
That's what people do now - its not like it was back in the day where Mummy went home to tend to the house - Mummy now drops the kid(s) at school before driving to do a full days proper work.
Stop living in the past with your "it wasn't like that in my day" nonsense and wake up to it being 2020 !!!! |

| Arnold Rimmer needs to visit my local primary school at throwing-out time.
Both sides of the road are parked along for a couple of hundred yards in each direction. Cars parked in adjacent side streets.Cars on pavements. Cars on pavements across junctions. It’s a madhouse.
Then add the parents who are always in a rush, opening car doors without looking, then pulling out again without looking,
It’s a complete madhouse.
If you go to the nearby secondary school it’s also mad. The school is on a dead-end road, you can imagine the chaos as cars drive in, stop, then try to turn round to drive out. AZnd there are lots of parent picking up their spoiled offspring.
I not only don’t drive near any of these at the wrong time, I don’t even walk past if I can help it. The way some drive pedestrians are in danger.
I’m glad that the council is to do something about it, I hope they extend it to many more areas and schools.

| Who are all these people driving to drop their kids off? Primary schools are local to the residences. Just walk there. Can't be more than 500m for most people.
So good luck to the council. Hope you make a bit of cash especially those parents that park on te zigzag lines.
Can slightly understand high schools as that could be more of a trek but no excuse for driving to a primary school. |

| I live near 3 schools and I see every morning between 8.30am and 9am and the afternoon between 3pm and 3.30pm the lazy bugger's being dropped off and picked up right outside the school gates. Back in the day I walked to school and it took me 20 minutes. my youngest daughter walks to /from high school most days or me or the missus drops/picks her up one a week. From our house to her high school is 1.8 miles(just under 2miles) and it takes her 30 minutes and she doesn't moan.. My youngest boy has just started college 2weeks ago and he walks to/from college and it's 1 half miles and 25 minutes walk, he doesn't moan. At the end of the day, I hope it catches hundreds of parents dropping off the lazy kids outside the school gates. One of my favourite sayings to my kids is "God gave us legs, use em". The safety of our children come first. |

| Worsley, the posh south bit of Walkden, Monton and outside light oaks school on lancaster road. That is where they will put them,. They will not put them down whit lane or LH. Old Lancaster has to make a few quid. Be fair. |
