Fed up working 9-5? Did you lose your council seat at the last election? Is the DWP getting on your case? Salford company Pawfect Mascot Parties might just have the dream job for you...
The company which takes mascots to kiddies parties, charity events and functions is looking for a Mascot Handler for characters including Marshall and Chase from PAW Patrol, Cybermen and Daleks.
The job is to 'help the mascots in and out of costume, and make sure that they are not hurt during their time on the floor. It would also require you to control the crowd and queues at events and at parties...'
"To get the potential handler, it takes a lot of consideration" says Connor Watson from Pawfect Mascots "I have to look for someone as the perfect fit. They have to be able to be punctual, have the ability to work exact and to create the perfect environment for both the performers and the public, making sure that both are safe.
"Handlers generally... handle...the PAW Patrol mascots" he adds "These are the most vulnerable of the lot of them. As heroic as they are on screen, in real life, they can only do so much to ensure their own safety as well as others. Sign language is really hard to portray, especially with massive paws on your hands, so handlers will take care of their every need from water to breaks."
Required attributes include being 'Loud, clear and precise', being comfortable around children and being DBS checked. Anyone over 18 can apply and any gender is welcome..."A fun personality is always welcome but they must be efficient" Connor explains. Any previous experience of mascot handling is also welcome.
The pay is between £15 and £25 per hour, and there are events at least once a week, generally at the weekends.
