Irlam Primary School needs as many votes as possible to secure £10,000 towards a security overhaul. Last year the school was subjected to having lead stolen from its roof, resulting in flooding and damage. Now Irlam Primary has been entered into a competition to win the £10,000 via the STANLEY Safer School's Programme to stop any break-ins happening again. "Currently the leading school has just over 2,000 votes and we can top that with the local communities help" state the Salford school's cheerleaders. All you have to do is click on the link below, add your email and vote, then verify your email. The voting deadline is noon on Thursday 31st January. | It appears you've banned old Rossi, Steve. Ironic when you spend most of your time whining about Salford Council blacklisting the Star. Anyway Fuck It, I'm glad you've banned me. The Salford Star 's a load of bollocks and will undoubtedly soon be just a memory. It'll run out of money and will cease to exist. For the best really. It's crap. |

| Here we go again.I for one do not berate tenants. I have great sympathy for the great majority of them who have to put up with all the crap they get from these caring socialist housing providers whose bosses get £200 grand a year wages.I feel sorry for the good people who have to put up with the bad behaviour of the few .For many years, before I had the good sense to buy my former council pad, I was forced ,through the councils housing policies to live in one of their wonderful multi storey piggeries where people used to piss in the lifts and the stairs. The thing is this. Salford councils housing policy is as barmy as its councilors. For instance, a Salford born lad, who has served say 5 years in the forces, who is homeless, is less a housing priority than a non salford born lad who has just been released from Forest bank after spending 5 years there. This is a fact. I challenge any of our lefty types who read this journal, and there are a few, (social worker, probation officer, housing officer etc) to contradict me here. They cannot because they know its true. When a resident of Worsley Green moves out, before the new resident moves in, you don't see the estate agent waiting to tin the place up for a couple of days so that the local scroats don't pinch the boiler do you? All I was saying, was that vandelising property thieves should not expect to be housed at the states expense and given priority. Also , to go further, people given public housing should respect it, look after it. The more they do so, the lower the cost of housing, and so more housing can be provided for the ones that need it. |

| Pure scum. The people that steal a bit of lead for a few quid, the work and damage it causes far outweighs the money they get. Same with the boiler robbers. What gets me though , is when they catch these people, and perhaps put them in jail, when they get out, our council will give them preference for housing, no wonder our housing have so many people on them with disrespect for property that is not their own. |
