The official video for Shinny's Christmas Number 1 single is out now, starring a host of celebs, including Bez, Mike Sweeney and Tina Malone plus, of course, a Salford Star t-shirt. The single is also out for pre-order and 20p from every sale goes to Macmillan Cancer Support.

If everyone in the city bought Shinny's Christmas Number 1 we would have Salford's first ever Christmas Number One.

Can Salford people get Shinny's Christmas Number 1 single to the top of the charts in time for Christmas? If everyone spends less than a quid downloading it, the dream will come true.

The video, with Shinny resplendent in a Salford Star t-shirt, also stars Bez, Mike Sweeney, Tina Malone, Jodi Latham, Saira Choudhry, Will Rush and Maddie Morgan. There's a lovely Christmas story of booze, sex and quarrels going off behind the catchy song with a very feel good ending!

20p from every sale goes straight to Macmillan Cancer Support... "This is also your vote towards us standing together against media manipulation and commercial music productions like XFactor!" says Shinny who is taking on the big pop gurus with the tune.

SALFORD CRESCENT POLICE STATION DEVELOPER TO AVOID ALMOST 1.5MILLION PLANNING FEES

PLANS REVEALED FOR CRESCENT POLICE STATION

Plans have finally been revealed for the Crescent Police Station which has been derelict for years. The facade will be retained, there'll be 117 apartments within the complex and 23 townhouses attached. However, Stama Developments (Salford) Ltd, which is transforming the site, will initially avoid 1,467,738 in planning fees and the provision of affordable housing due to the usual 'viability' deal.

Incredibly, the planning application reveals that if Salford City Council does get any 'clawback' payments from the developer in future for affordable housing they will be going towards a new bridge!

GREATER MANCHESTER DEVOLUTION SEES 370,000 NEW FAT CAT JOBS

GM DEVOLUTION SEES MARCH OF THE FAT CATS

Greater Manchester devolution is seeing more publicly funded Fat Cat jobs introduced into the region, with a Chief Investment Officer on 150,000 already approved, and positions for a Chief Information Officer on a salary of 90,000 - 100,000, a Chief Resilience Officer at 74,000 - 86,000, and a Health Economist at 60,000-65,000 looking set to be approved this week.

The Resilience Officer will be dealing with things like 'high unemployment' and 'community tensions'...

ALMOST EVERY SCHOOL IN SALFORD TO LOSE FUNDING UNDER TORY EDUCATION POLICY

SALFORD SCHOOLS TO BE 11MILLION WORSE OFF...

Almost every school in Salford will have huge funding cuts under new policy drawn up by the Tory Government, states the National Union of Teachers. The union adds that the city's schools will be 11,105,976 worse off by 2019/20 than they were in 2015/16.

"Parents in Salford should be deeply concerned by these damaging cuts that hit almost every school" says Salford NUT Secretary Judith Elderkin. The union has an interactive map showing how each school will be cut.

25,000 COMMENTS ON CONTROVERSIAL GREATER MANCHESTER GREEN BELT STRATEGY

SAVE GM GREEN BELT GROUPS TO CONVERGE ON MANCHESTER 1ST APRIL

As almost two dozen groups trying to save the region's Green Belt are set to converge on Manchester for a protest this Saturday, it has been revealed that controversial plans proposed by Greater Manchester Combined Authority drew around 25,000 comments, 93% of which were relating to site allocations.

Darren Goulden, of Salford group Planning For Our Future In Irlam and Cadishead, says it will be "a massive show of solidarity against the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework and the Salford Local Plan".

SALFORD POVERTY INCREASE SEES MUSTARD TREE FOOD BANK RUNNING LOW ON SUPPLIES

LITTLE HULTON AND ECCLES FOOD BANK PUTS OUT URGENT APPEAL FOR SUPPLIES

The Mustard Tree charity, which runs food operations in Little Hulton and Eccles, has put out an urgent appeal for supplies...

"With annual increases in homelessness and poverty in Salford, we are finding a growing need for our food provision services and our food store is running low" says its Salford Operations Manager "We need your help so that we can continue providing this vital service..."
