Now we've got the first taste of things to come when the BBC moves to Media City in 2011. In his "world exclusive" revelation, Campbell said that he will be working with the BBC and Radio 5 at Media City but he'll be commuting on a weekly basis, with his wife and four children staying down south…obviously not going to subject the little loves to the harsh, nasty surroundings of the north...
"I will have lots of quality time for the family at the weekend and lots of holidays…"
Campbell's weekly commute will come as a shock to developers like LPC whose original planning application for 260 properties in Ordsall (of which only 52 were to be `affordable') talked of the BBC and the Quays and "capturing higher paid workers and their families".
Still, at least Campbell might be filling one of those empty crash pad apartments now littering Salford? Doubt it. He thinks he's coming, er, somewhere else…
"When people say such and such a programme can't be done in Manchester we just look like arses"
And when people don't even know which city they're going to…they look like even bigger `arses'…
